Audio news on the Google Assistant will launch in a limited number of people in the US

Liz Gannes, Product Manager of Google News, announced in a blog post, the upcoming Google Assistant will help people to know the current news with a command.

Google will have an audio news playlist with a briefing on top stories and updates that a user wants to know. The 20 media partners of Google are Advance Local, American Public Media, AP, Axios, Billboard, CNBC, CNET, KQED, McClatchy, NBC Owned Television Station Group, New York Times, Newsy, PRI/PRX, Radio.com, SCMP, The Hollywood Reporter, theScore, USA TODAY, Washington Post, and WNYC. Google will require audio journalism new capabilities and workflows for both print media and broadcasters.

The company created an open specification that can be accessed by news organizations who wants to participate. The Audio news on the Google Assistant will launch first in selected people in the US in English. International publishers can also submit their English-content feeds to try the experience.
