Certificate Transparency Monitoring Tool extended by Facebook

Facebook’s new services will help the developers to avoid and spot phishing domains that can be led to their websites’ pejorative.

Developers can use the Certificate Transparency Monitoring tool to identify all the fake websites which collects accounts of the users with their passwords, credit cards numbers, and other sensitive information that is similar to legitimate websites. Facebook’s security engineer David Huang and software engineers Bartosz Niemczura and Amy Xu confirmed that this tool sends alerts when it provides fake certificates that can deceive developers.

The Certificate Transparency Monitoring tool is designed by Facebook to trace all the valid certificates completed by Certificate Authorities. It studies domains to look for fraudulent actions including a malicious website that similar to an official website. The combination of two official websites or brand names in one website called combo squatting and some website that is incorrect spelling to fool the users and collect their accounts.
