In a post from their news blog, Facebook has announced paid subscriptions for group memberships. Group administrators can now charge from $4.99 to $29.99 for members to access exclusive content.

The company is still testing the new feature with selected parenting and home organization groups such as blogger Sarah Mueller’s Organize My Home that is an offset of her Declutter My Home group. Another subscription group cited was the Grown and Flown Parents: College Admissions and Affordability group, which will charge $29.99 for parents and their children to consult with college counselors.

“We hear from group admins that they’re looking for ways to help them earn money to deepen engagement with their members and continue to support their communities. Many admins do this today by creating an additional subscribers-only group that sits alongside their existing group, and rely on additional tools to track and collect payments,” read the announcement post.
