Google Search stores the user’s location automatically

Google updated its Location History feature which saves a user’s location even if they are offline, turn off or “pause” the feature.

According to Associated Press, a number of Google products on both Android and iOS devices still keeping the user’s location even they are using privacy setting. Users will see their location history in Google Maps, it includes white dot, black dot, and red dot which representing the user’s location. They also see the dates at the upper right of the app with the dots. The privacy of some users will be affected because of this issue. The company gave options to stop the Location History to store location such as disabling another setting which is “Web and App Activity”. It will also prevent from saving information generated by searches and other activities.

Google stated to AP “We provide clear descriptions of these tools, and robust controls so people can turn them on or off, and delete their histories at any time.”
