Jeff D’Onofrio, Tumblr’s CEO, posted in a blog post that they will ban all the posts that have an adult content because of the new update to its Community Guidelines.

CEO D’Onofrio said “We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.” The company added that they have created the new policy, because they want the app to be a “safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community”.

The company confirmed that they will start removing all the posts that contains adult content on December 17th this year. The company will be transparent with users about the decisions they are planning.
