Twitter launches its Lite version in 24 more countries

Jesar Shah, Twitter’s Product Manager posted in a blog post about the expansion of Twitter Lite in 24 more countries.

Twitter Lite version has the same feature as the original version but it minimized data usage, loads quicker or slower connection, and  more flexible on unreliable mobile networks. Twitter Lite has new features including GIF Search, Dark Mode and ranked Home timeline. It is applicable to 2G and 3G networks and has a data saver mode to download a selected video or image. The app has 3MB in size.

The new 24 more countries that have Twitter Lite to the Google Play Store are Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Malaysia, Nigeria, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Serbia, El Salvador, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Tanzania, and Venezuela which are across Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, and Latin America.

The Lite version is now available in more than 45 countries in total and can now download on Google Play Store for free.
