Twitter removes support for some third-party apps

Yesterday, Rob Johnson, Twitter’s Senior Director, Data, declared that Twitter will no longer support some outdated developer tool which is API.

The company stops supporting Twitter for Apple Watch and Twitter for Mac and changed the previous Twitter for Windows app with their Progressive Web app. Twitter is focusing on giving the best experience for their apps and sites for years. Many of the recently launched features and improvements of settings are possible in a Twitter-owned app which is a behavior-based signals, safer conversation for live video, discovering relevant Tweets and videos, consistent app navigation and real-time Tweet engagement counts, Control over your Twitter data, improved accessibility support, Notification and Direct Messages controls. There are five latest features, Explore, Periscopes, Polls, Bookmarks, and Tweet-level controls for feedback.

The changes of the app may affect all the users and third-party app developers. The company posted in a blog post that they still committed to ongoing investment in their developer ecosystem. They also were continuing to invest in TweetDeck.
