Uber is putting a halt to all their self-driving vehicle testing after one of them struck and killed a woman in Tempe, Arizona between Sunday evening and Monday early morning.
The vehicle had a safety driver behind the wheel but was in autonomous mode and heading north. A female pedestrian walking on a crosswalk was struck by the vehicle and delivered to the hospital shortly after, but later succumbed to her injuries and passed. The safety driver inside the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. Uber and its CEO Dara Khosrowshahi went on Twitter earlier to send their condolences and confirm that they are cooperating with the local police department and other authorities in the investigation.

Uber has stopped and pulled out all of its autonomous driving test vehicles from the roads of the cities of San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and Toronto.
