Google posted in a blog post about the announcement that was made at the company’s event in San Francisco.

The new app for G Suite app was hailed “Currents” that has a new layout, experience, and a number of features. Currents has the ability to let leaders and employees communicate with each other across the organization. Users can tag, put an attachment, share images, comment, give feedback, and ask questions in the same place. It will let Content Admins manage streams, tags, define leaders, moderate content, and track usage and engagement with standards that will promote specific content to the selected employees or the entire company.

The admins of an organization will need to email CurrentsBeta@google.com for access. The new app is now available to the beta version and to all G Suite editions. The company confirmed that all organizations that have an existing Google+ content will automatically move to Currents once they subscribe in the beta.
