In a whistleblower federal case filed last month, Peiter Zatko, the former head of security for Twitter, made allegations. Several significant information security system flaws, he claimed, were present at the social media behemoth. This information came from a copy of the complaint that is available to the public on Tuesday. However, Twitter denies the Whistleblower’s claims.

What does the Whistleblower’s claims on Twitter suggest?

Some employees stood to gain $10 million bonuses depending on boosting daily users. The complaint alleges that the firm put growth ahead of monitoring spam and bots on the network.

Zatko, who worked for the company from November 2020 to January 2022, was sacked as a result of his “ineffective leadership and bad performance”. Twitter lambasted him in return. Zatko’s public comments, according to the company, are “full of inconsistencies and falsehoods and lack crucial context.”

Lawyers for zatko criticised Twitter’s depiction in a statement.

Furthermore, it was stated that “On January 19, 2022, Twitter abruptly terminated his employment”.  This day marks Mr. Zatko’s clash with Mr. Agrawal and Mr. Kordestani.

The lawsuit, which is currently public by The Washington Post, comes as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is the world’s richest person by Forbes, as sought to renegotiate his $44 billion offer to buy Twitter due to worries over the platform’s spam accounts.

Twitter denies the Whistleblower's claims

The recent significant development for Twitter and Musk is the whistleblower complaint. Musk chose to end his acquisition of the company. However, the two parties are still into a legal battle.

In the past, Musk has argued that Twitter hasn’t accurately estimated the amount of bots using its network. Twitter refuted that assertion, stating it had sent Musk the information in accordance with the terms of the acquisition agreement.
