WhatsApp, the instant and renowned messaging application has recently rolled out its latest feature. This feature will now allow users to hide profile picture, last seen and status from other users as per their choice.
As per reports, WhatsApp had been developing and testing this new privacy feature since last year before finally releasing it and rolling it out to all the WhatsApp users. Initially, the release of this new feature was only restricted to certain Beta Whatsapp version users across all Android and iOS devices. But currently they have finally launched this feature for all the users across all devices.
This new feature will enable users to gain a more fine control over who they want their story, status, about, and last seen to be visible to and who not. Earlier, before this feature you could only choose between showing your status updates to everyone, nobody or my contacts except…, last seen to nobody and everyone, profile photo to everyone, nobody, my contacts except… and about to everyone, nobody and my contacts.
After this feature, you get an additional option in last seen, profile photo and about – My contacts except… This feature gives you more power to protect and safeguard your privacy by excluding users who you don’t want your personal information to be visible to.
Users will be able to view and change these settings by following the steps mentioned below:
- Step 1: Open your Whatsapp app.
- Step 2: Click on the three dots on the upper right corner.
- Step 3: Click on Settings.
- Step 4: Go to Privacy.
- Step 5: You will be able to see the options- Last seen, Profile photo, About and Status.
- Step 6: When you click on any of them you will see the following options for Last seen, Profile photo, About and Status- Everyone, My contacts, My contacts except…, and Nobody. You can change these settings according to your preferences.
