Amazon’s official website is said to have grow stuffed with ads because a number of sponsored brands are ready to give dollars which can be a marketing strategy to sell their products.

According to Recode, as an example of the issue, they have searched a cereal in Amazon’s site, then the first three results are located at the top with a bigger image including the company’s own brand of cereal which is 365 Everyday Value that is part of the Whole Foods acquisition. Even if a user searches a specific product or brand, the sponsored ads will be show up above such as its competitor.

According to Jason Goldberg, SapientRazorfish SVP of Commerce, nobody will scroll beyond the first page of the search results page, and as an advertiser, if they want to be discoverable, they will have to find a way to be at the top of the search results.
