Amazon’s Alexa includes new healthcare skills

Amazon announced in a blog post about the six of Alexa’s new healthcare skills that will offer convenience experiences and to help users to monitor their health with a voice command.

Alexa’s new Healthcare skills include Express Scripts, Cigna Health Today, My Children’s Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), Swedish Health Connect, Atrium Health, and Livongo. Express Scripts will let members check their home delivery prescription status and they will be notified by the device if their prescription orders are shipped if they want to. Cigna Health Today will manage health improvements desires and enhancing customized wellness incentives by the eligible employees of Cigna. My Children’s ERAS from Boston Children’s Hospital will be able to give their care teams updates about recovery progress. Swedish Health Connect of Providence St. Joseph Health and Atrium Health have a healthcare system that will provide an emergency care center near to the users and schedule them that day. Livongo will give information about the user’s blood sugar.

The new update is now available in the US and the company confirmed that they are expecting more developers to let users access more healthcare skills.
