Paytm, India’s leading mobile wallet and payments company, has partnered with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to launch QR code-based tickets for metro travel. This new feature will allow commuters to purchase and use metro tickets using their Paytm app, without the need to carry a physical ticket.

To use QR code-based tickets on the Delhi Metro, commuters need to follow these steps:

  1. Open the Paytm app and go to the Metro section.
  2. Select the source and destination stations.
  3. Enter the number of passengers and choose the type of ticket (single journey or return journey).
  4. Pay for the tickets using your Paytm wallet or any other payment method available on Paytm.

  6. To enter the metro station, simply scan the QR code ticket at the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gate.
  7. To exit the metro station, scan the QR code ticket at the AFC gate again.

Benefits of using QR code-based tickets

There are a number of benefits to using QR code-based tickets on the Delhi Metro, including:

  • Convenience: QR code-based tickets are much more convenient to use than physical tickets. You do not need to carry a physical ticket, and you can purchase tickets at any time, even when you are on the go.
  • Speed: QR code-based tickets can be scanned quickly and easily at AFC gates, which means that you can enter and exit metro stations faster.
  • Security: QR code-based tickets are more secure than physical tickets, as they cannot be forged or counterfeited.

Overall, the launch of QR code-based tickets on the Delhi Metro is a welcome move. It will make metro travel more convenient, faster, and more secure for commuters.
