Europe can control Facebook

According to Heiko Maas, the German Justice Minister, Facebook cannot escape the European Union’s stringent rules, specifically the new and tougher data protection rules which comprise the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The GDPR website sites an overview that it is replacing the former Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and is systematizing data privacy laws across Europe. The GDPR was approved last 16th day of April and will be enforced 20 days after it is published in Europe Official Journal, particularly on May.  Its purpose is to protect and liberate all the European’s data privacy and to develop the organizations along Europe. Due to the policies of the GDPR, Facebook is going to adjust their rules in data gathering. Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg responded immediately about the new rules in Europe to prevent future violations of regulations, not only in Europe but globally. Facebook’s standards are global and they are still adapting other countries’ law for the improvement of their application.
