If you already have strong feelings about overexposure to Instagram update loops from accounts you don’t follow, wait until next year.By the end of 2023, the number of content people see from suggested accounts when they use Instagram and Facebook will more than double, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said. Recommendations now make up about 15 percent of Facebook’s content, he said, and that percentage is higher on Instagram. The push, which Zuckerberg calls a “discovery engine,” is a radical departure from Facebook and Instagram’s historical focus on displaying posts from a user’s social graph or friends list. This change aims to compete with TikTok, which heavily uses artificial intelligence, regardless of where the videos come from.

This approach quickly made TikTok one of the most popular apps in the world and created a new creative economy. During the second three-month call on Wednesday, Zuckerberg explained: “Search for additional content that Germany considers interesting, which enhances the quality of our channels.” “All contents such as links or photos, use Meta AI to share it in your services,” he said.”So I think we do, it’s very unique,” he said. “I don’t think it has limited people in any way.”Facebook’s last big change came in 2018 when Zuckerberg announced a strategy focused on encouraging “socially meaningful interaction” (MSI) between friends in the News Feed, and specifically on how it recommends content. When Zuckerberg was introduced, he predicted that time spent on the social network would decrease, but users would feel better.

“When we use social resources to communicate with those who care, research shows that it is suitable for our well,” he said. “On the other hand, read an article or watch a movie – whether they are fun or conscious – it’s better.”Now that the goal is declining, the Facebook website is old and is done in the last four years by Zuckerberg. He said on Wednesday that people tend to abandon sharing feeds and instead communicate through private messages. A social trend we’re seeing is that instead of people just chatting in feed comments, more people are finding interesting content in their feeds and then forwarding that content to their friends and sharing it there.
