Facebook announced that the expansion of Watch Party with its new features including based on company’s partner and the feedback of the community.
According to a blog post, Matt Labunka and Eric Price, Product Managers, the company is releasing Watch Party to all pages and people on Facebook which is the stepping stone in their journey to improve social, interactive experiences around the app. The Watch Party feature will give users, creators, and publishers watch, discuss, and react to live videos or non-live videos. The feature in Groups, it has estimated of more than 12million Watch Parties. The admin of the page has an access to have broader audiences around videos, and the company has tested it with a handful of partners.
Facebook said “We’re adding the ability for Pages and Groups to schedule a Watch Party, helping drive participation in advance and helping people discover Watch Parties they’re interested in. We’re adding threaded comments so it’s easier for people to interact and have conversations within a Watch Party with many comments. And finally, we’re starting to roll out Live Commentating, which lets a host go Live within a Watch Party to share commentary as videos play.”
The new features are now available for everyone.
