Facebook launches a new feature for users to report fake news

Facebook released a rating system for users to know if the article is credible to people or it is one of the fake news that has been spread in the social media.

Based on the report of The Washington Post, the new feature will let users to forecast their trustworthiness on a scale from zero to one. Users can report particular information that they don’t agree with, suspicious content, and they think it can be fake news. The new tool will help Facebook to recognize news articles that have a high rating of user’s trustworthiness. It will prevent fake news and mislead of information that can defame a company or people. Company’s fact-checking team will check the reported stories and it is unsure if they will immediately delete the news which is malicious and not true.

Tessa Lyons, Facebook Product Manager, said that the final score will serve as one of the measurement of new behavioral clues. The company has not yet released further information about the new tool.
