Facebook New Strategy for Fake News

Facebook has reduced the size of fake news links to content that may be harder to see by more subscribers and has been verified by third-party checkers as false confirmed by the spokesperson on TechCrunch.

The fake news’ headline will be smaller than the factual news along with other related news so that the subscribers can miss the inaccurate links and make these links less visible to their timeline. Facebook intends to avoid the spreading of fake news and is still creating features to avoid misleading information in user’s timeline. Facebook added that they are using learning machines that can help them predict fake news and to help prioritize material they send to fact-checkers.

Facebook is now working with 20 fact-checkers in selected countries in the world and are still finding more partners that can help both parties. Facebook is developing their app to fight fake news at every step including accounts created using fake identities. Fraudulent pages will be shutdown, malicious pages or wrong use of ads will lessen their audience, and last the limitations of fake news will have a fact-checker.
