Google releases new feature for searching datasets

Google announced in a blog post about the upcoming new feature for scientists, data journalists, data analytics, and data geeks.

The new feature was hailed Dataset Search, which is similar to Google Scholar that helps users to find datasets which are publisher’s site, digital library, and author’s personal web page. Google developed instructions for dataset providers to define their data that can be read its content by the app search engines. The guidelines include important information of dataset such as the creator of the dataset, the released date, how the data were collected, and terms of using the data. User will have an access to search the sources of information on environmental and social sciences, also the data from other disciplines including government and news organizations’ data, such as ProPublica.

Dataset Search has a multiple languages with additional languages that is said to be coming soon. The new feature is now available globally.
