Humane has issued a critical warning to its customers: If you own an AI Pin and use the Charge Case accessory, stop using it because there’s a potential fire safety risk.

The problem lies with the battery cell used in the Charge Case. Humane identified a quality issue with the battery cell supplied by a third-party vendor. As a result, the company advises users to stop both charging and using the accessory.

This issue doesn’t affect the AI Pin itself, nor does it impact the Humane Charge Pad or the Battery Booster. The problem is isolated to the Charge Case’s battery cells, not the hardware design.

Humane AI Pin catches fire!

Humane is actively investigating the issue and working to find a new battery supplier. However, it remains unclear when they’ll provide safe replacement cases to existing customers. For now, Humane offers a two-month free subscription as a consolation.

While battery fires are rare, they’re a valid concern. Humane’s proactive approach to addressing this issue is commendable. If you own an AI Pin, heed their warning and discontinue use of the Charge Case immediately.
