A new and important feature found in the upcoming iOS 12 that oddly enough was not announced in Apple’s WWDC keynote is Live Listen, Apple’s feature that was previously only offered to their Made for iPhone hearing aids. Live Listen’s appearance in the iOS 12 was first reported by TechCrunch.
Live Listen enables your Apple device to become a microphone that will send sound to your Made for iPhone hearing aids. Now, in the iOS 12 users can install the program and sounds can be sent to their AirPods instead of certified hearing aids. Live Listen was made for those with mild hearing loss and is a great way to augment sound especially in loud public spaces.
But it is worth noting that Live Listen does not serve as a substitute for an actual hearing.
