Threads, Meta’s freshly released Twitter rival, makes use of Instagram’s account structure. When users sign up for Threads, they may transfer their Instagram accounts to the app. However, it establishes a reliance between the two services, making it impossible for users to delete their Threads account without destroying their Instagram account. According to Mosseri’s post, Meta is thinking of developing a tool that would allow users to remove their Threads account while keeping their Instagram account.
