Horizon Home will be available as part of a new upgrade to the Quest 2 headset, according to Meta current CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Despite Meta’s assertion that virtual reality is the future of online communication, the Quest 2 has yet to provide a straightforward method of socializing. You might join a party with pals and galivant throughout Horizon Worlds, its social network, or you could play a game together, but just hanging out hasn’t been easy. As promised last autumn, the Horizon House feature will now allow guests to pay you a visit in your digital house.

When you initially put on your headset, you will be in your house, which you may pick from pre-made alternatives such as a space station, a Japanese inn, or a terrace overlooking a magnificent sunset. You may even import your own surroundings with a little tinkering. Meta intends to release capabilities for constructing your own environments without the use of third-party programs in the future.

In a video featuring free climber Alex Honnold, Zuckerberg showcased the new function. They met in Zuckerberg’s home before jumping into a 360-degree video Honnold posted while free climbing 1,000 feet up on a cliff in the Dolomites.

Furthermore, while in the VR realm, the Horizon will let you to view films and even play games with your pals. It will also allow you to communicate with your pals across all applications and devices using the Messenger calling function in the VR, which is set to come later this year.
