Meta smart glasses will now be compatible with WhatsApp and Messenger

On Tuesday Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced that Meta Smart Glasses will now be compatible with WhatsApp video calls and Messenger. The glasses will also support point of view mode. The other person on the video call will be able to see the point of view of the user on the call which will streamed through the built-in cameras on the smart glasses.

The 2024 edition of the Meta smart glasses was first launched by Meta in collaboration with Ray- Ban in February 2024. The tech giant is now introducing new style options such as Skyler frames, a low bridge option for the Headliner frames and more. Besides, users can even customize the smart glasses with more than 100 different frames and lens combinations and options through the Ray-Ban remix platform. Meta Glasses start from $299 ( 25,000 INR in approx).

The Meta glasses are powered by Meta AI and offer innovative features. It has an ultra wide angle camera of 12 MP which you can use to record videos and click pictures. With this new feature you can now make video calls through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Messenger. Not only this but you can also use the glasses for normal audio calls and listen to music with it.

Meta is also all set to release a special limited edition Scuderia Ferrari colourway for the smart glasses. According to the company this will “bring together the legacy of Ferrari, timeless Ray-Ban design, and cutting-edge tech from Meta.” These glasses will be available for sale starting from April 24 in selected markets.

Where are the Meta Smart Glasses available as of now?

As of now, Meta smart glasses are available in over 15 countries including Australia, Canada, Europe and the US. However currently the glasses are not officially available in India.
