OnePlus 12 has received its first major software update, which introduces the much anticipated Master Mode, tuned by Hasselblad. According to the changelog, the latest software update for the OnePlus 12 is around 6.5 GB, which also introduces several other features such as ProXDR for the Google Photos app, improves system stability, and claims to improve the network capabilities of the smartphone.

OxygenOS 14 with the build number CPH2573_14.0.0.404(EX01) is currently rolling out to users across the world, including India (non-Chinese variants) and this update should further stabilise the overall user experience on the smartphone.

Coming back to the highlight of this update, the Master Mode on the OnePlus 12 (review) will allow users to click pictures in Hasselblad-tuned colour science — natural and vibrant colours, where, natural-looking images will be more true to life, while the photos taken using the vibrant colour mode will be a bit more saturated and will be more vivid.

The new Master Mode on the OnePlus 12 should fully utilise the new camera system on the phone, which consists of a 64 MP 3x periscope zoom lens, a 50 MP primary wide-angle camera, and a 48 MP ultra-wide angle lens. The OnePlus 12 is also the first phone from the brand to include a 32 MP selfie camera with support for 4K video recording.

Another important feature that OnePlus 12 has gained with this update is the ProXDR mode on Google Photos, which is also known as Ultra HDR Image Format, which will help the Photos app to show the picture in the HDR mode by retaining all the details of the image, including rich shadows, highlights, and when compared to a regular image, a ProXDR image will look a lot more bright and vivid with a wider dynamic range, and this will work on devices that support ProXDR and has an HDR compatible display.
