OnePlus 81 Pro mechanical keyboard goes on sale: Price starts at Rs 17,999

OnePlus on Tuesday unveiled that its first mechanical keyboard — 81 Pro Winter Bonfire and Summer Breeze editions will cost Rs 17,999, and Rs 199,999, respectively. The availability of the keyboard is currently limited to users with an invitation code and the device will go on open sale from August 7.

OnePlus forayed into the mechanical keyboard segment with the announcement of Keyboard 81 Pro back in February along with the launch of the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus 11R. The accessory comes in two colours option, featuring easy-to-replace keycaps, and mechanical switches.

These keyboards are built in collaboration with Keychron, a well-known entity in the world of mechanical keyboards.

OnePlus’s keyboard 81 Pro is a premium offering, where, the outer casing is made out of aluminium. The keyboard uses a US layout with south facing RGB layout and it is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems.

The keyboard has an integrated 4,000 mAh battery, rated to last up to 100 hours and it also has a USB Type-C port, which can fully charge the keyboard in 5 hours. Powered by Bluetooth 5.1, the keyboard has an operating range of 10 meters.

Along with the keyboard, the company also includes a type-C to type-C cable, a type-A to type-A cable, a hex key, and a switch and key puller.
