Realme believes AI imaging will become the new currency to measure the power of a smartphone’s camera, and by extension the brand. With this, Realme 13 Pro+ 5G is going to get reviewed based on its performance.

Build

The curved screen wraps around the metal edges, creating a beautiful immersive display with rails that are almost invisible. You will be mesmerized by the large, glossy, black camera dial, which has a textured, gold ring border. The panel is positioned on the flaxen, shimmering back of the device. Metallic silver streaks shine through. The surface feels like ceramic, and the combination of black, gold and silver looks stunning. This phone is so premium that it demands to be referred to as such.

As you use the product, you start to notice some flaws. Dropping the phone in mid-call, or even while texting, is a constant risk.

The phone, on the other hand is durable and well-built; it easily survived a few falls.

Realme 13 Pro+ is available in Monet Gold or Emerald Green.

Display

Realme 13 Pro+ has a large, curvy display with almost invisible bezels. Take into account the slimness of the phone and the need to cover the edges with a protective layer. The curved edges of the screen and its sensitivity can also lead to accidental activation.

Users can watch or text in bright light with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. The phone has a variety of colour modes that promote eye comfort and health. Its vibrant display and accurate colour reproduction also put it in front of many premium competitors. The whites of the phone are brighter and cleaner, enhancing viewers’ experience. It is a great device for photographers, editors and OTT viewers.

The Performance of a

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 platform is not for gamers. However, casual users, photographers, and those who use the phone as a work device or personal device should have no problem using it.

The speakers on the smartphone are of a high quality. The sound is reproduced with high volume and fullness without compromising balance or fidelity. In a pinch, the phone could be used as a speaker.

The Realme 13 Pro+ has a few downsides, including pre-installed apps, duplicate services and games. These apps alone took up around 25GB of memory, and deleting Realme’s own apps can be a multi-step, if it is not impossible, process.

Camera

Realme 13 Pro is primarily known for its camera. The company has announced a partnership with Sony, and revealed that the AI camera is the first in the series to use the Sony LYT-701 camera sensor and Sony LYT600 Periscope Lens.

Images are brightened to give the appearance of studio lighting. The 120x Zoom is a gimmick and not needed, but a navigation frame allows users to better aim their device. The image stabilisation of the camera was problematic when used in dim light or when zooming. When used in stable and well-lit conditions, however, the AI architecture and camera were impressive.

The more adventurous photographers will enjoy the AI editing tools, filters and basic/pro camera modes. The device is also a good choice for those who prefer a more simple experience, since it can capture frame-worthy photos with just one tap.

Night photos are clean and well-illuminated, with little noise or discoloration. Due to a lack of image stabilisation we ended up with beautiful shots with blurry or shaky subjects.

AI Ultra Clarity, a beta feature on the phone, is a feature for editing images that uses internet access and aims to improve existing photos to produce sharper, cleaner versions. AI-powered editing is largely based on increasing brightness and contrast, as the phone attempts to fill in missing pixels.

Realme 13 Pro+ 5G

Zooming in on the Realme’s phone images, you can see AI-generated smears in the places where it tried to fill in the missing pixels. A DSLR image zoomed in will preserve enough data for you to make more complex edits.

Battery

Realme 13 Pro+ 5G has a long-lasting battery thanks to its 5,200 mAh. The battery can last up to a full day when used for both work and personal use. However, there are modes which can prolong the battery life.

The battery of the phone does not deplete too quickly if the device is asleep for days. This allows users to pick up from where they left off.

Battery charges from less than 20% up to 100% in under an hour. This is perfect for people on the go.

Verdict

Realme 13 Pro+ is a smartphone that offers a great deal of value for its price. The phone is not only for camera enthusiasts, but it also has a stunning design, powerful performance, and an impressive speaker for music lovers.
