Last week, According to a blog post of Ilya Asnis, Senior Vice President of Roku OS, users can now manage selected Roku gadgets such as Roku OS 8.1 above via Google Assistant supported devices.
The Roku’s update will help users to control their selected devices such as smartphone, speakers, and Smart displays. The user has now an access to watch their favorite films, search, launch Hulu, and can play, pause, stop, fast forward, and fast backward TV shows and Movies by giving a voice control to the smart devices. The Roku devices also have an additional feature which will let users to turn on and off the TV, volume control, and switching input if it is available.
The company told users that they must have Fast TV Start enabled on their Roku TV which can give them an access to use Google Assistant voice command on the Smart TV. The company also added that users will also have an HDTV antenna connected to Roku TV to run Google Assistant voice command to select different channels on TV tuner.
The update is only available in the US. The company has not yet announced the release date in other countries.
