The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 is equipped with an RTX 4070 dGPU, a 24-core Core i9-13900HX processor, 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, and an 80 Wh battery. A 16-inch IPS screen with a QHD+ resolution, a fast 240 Hz refresh rate, and a claimed 500 nits of brightness handles display tasks. Finally, there is an FHD webcam with two microphones and a privacy shutter on the top.
Lenovo’s Legion Pro 5i (2023) is an excellent mid-range gaming laptop. In our study of the Core i7-13700HX and RTX 4060 variant, we gave the laptop an 88% “Very good” rating. Because the SKU available has a different CPU, GPU, and display, this evaluation applies to all other elements of the laptop save those specified.
Essentially, the Legion Pro 5i Gen 8’s Core i9-13900HX benchmarks place the CPU in the highest ranks of mobile CPUs, with just a few chips capable of outperforming Intel’s beast. The Core i9-13900HX, for example, obtains Cinebench R23 Multi-Core and Single-Core averages of 28,225 and 2,044 with maximum values of 32,623 and 2,105, respectively.
