Snapchat is planning to have a new feature which the app’s camera was turned to a visual search engine that will bring the users to Amazon’s listing.
According to TechCrunch, the new feature has a codenamed “Eagle”. The users can access the new feature when they press and hold to recognize an object, song, and the barcode from their phone’s camera by sending data to Amazon, Shazam, and other partners of the company. After the scanning of an image, object or a barcode, the users will notify about the results at Amazon. The users can also copy, share, and send the link of Amazon’s results to their friends via Snap messages and Snapchat Stories. The app will answer “Bummer, we didn’t catch that!” or “Try scanning again” if the camera cannot identify the product.
Snapchat has not yet confirmed about the upcoming feature.
