Songs from YouTube Music can now be played on Apple HomePod speakers: How to setup

If you are a YouTube Music Premium subscriber, you will also be able to use Siri to play ad-free music and exclusive content on your HomePod.

Apple HomePod speakers can now play songs from YouTube Music, thanks to a new integration between the two services. This means that you can now use Siri to play your favorite YouTube Music songs, albums, and playlists on your HomePod.

To set up YouTube Music on your HomePod, you will need to:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of the YouTube Music app installed on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Open the YouTube Music app and tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap on “Settings” and then “Connected apps”.
  4. Tap on “Connect with HomePod”.
  5. Tap on “Continue” and then tap on your YouTube Music account.
  6. Tap on the box next to “View and manage your YouTube Music data” and then tap on “Continue”.
  7. Tap on “Use in Home” and then tap on “Done”.

Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to use Siri to play YouTube Music on your HomePod. For example, you could say “Hey Siri, play my favorite YouTube Music playlist” or “Hey Siri, play the latest song from Adele on YouTube Music”.

If you want to set YouTube Music as your default music service on your HomePod, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on the “More” button (three dots) in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap on “Home Settings”.
  4. Tap on your username.
  5. Tap on “Default Service”.
  6. Tap on “YouTube Music”.

Once you have done this, all of your music requests will be played by YouTube Music, even if you don’t specify it in your request.
