SpaceX, billionaire Elon Musk’s low orbit satellite-based broadband service recently signed its first ever in-flight Wi-Fi deal. The firm has successfully landed in its first aviation customer, JSX, a startup in Texas. However, the aviation firm has decided to use Starlink’s service in more than 100 of its charter planes. Musk’s million dollar company will provide Wi-Fi to the passengers in the upcoming days.

SpaceX will equip JSX’s fleet of Embraer SA 145 with satellites from Starlight. The Dallas-based aviation startup announced the partnership news on late Thursday night. Moreover, Musk’s satellite company will also incur no additional charges for its service. As of now, the terms and conditions of the deal is not unveiled. Well, JSX is the first aviation company to adopt Starlight’s Wi-Fi in-flight. Besides that, it is said that SpaceX will commence this partnership later this year. Speaking about the agreement, JSX’s CEO Alex Wilcox said that the carrier’s customers have repeatedly asked for in-flight Wi-Fi on board. Moreover, he was very proud to announce his deal with Elon Musk’s satellite service. Founded in April 2016, JSX operates 30-seat Embraer ERJ aircrafts between California, Nevada, Texas, and Arizona. The in-flight Wi-Fi service is very convenient for the customers. All they have to do is simply login without any additional portals or login process.

The announcement comes nearly eight months after SpaceX secured a license to establish a ground station in the UK. However, its aim to set a station on the Isle of Man was to expand coverage. Besides that, the firm is also in touch with the government of UK to attempt solve the connectivity crisis in the country.
