Spotify playlists disappear briefly causing confusion among users

Spotify users were found to be complaining yesterday that the user created playlist were not visible on both the desktop and mobile version of the app.

The music streaming platform that is used popularly all across the world by millions reported leave faced and issue with several users complaining about the fact that the playlist created by them were not being displayed. However it seemed like users were able to play music without a problem but the glitch was causing the playlists created by users to disappear. The auto generated playlists such as ‘Daily Mix’ were however not affected by this glitch.

Several Spotify users have expressed their frustration on X and asked if they were the only ones affected by the problem. According to Downdetector, which is a website tracking service that can track the online status of various websites, this problem started somewhere around 3:00 p.m. IST on June 7.

 

However the company has not yet said anything about disappearing playlists in spite of hundreds of posts from the users tagging the official account to Spotify on X. In the screenshot attached below you can see that user created playlists were shown as blank on the iPhone version of the app. As far as the Android version of Spotify is concerned, the playlist was not visible at all.

According to the reports from users this problem was not only limited to mobile devices but was also faced by the ones using the browser version of Spotify.
