YouTube said on Tuesday that it is expanding its Super Thanks feature to all eligible creators in the YouTube Partner Program. Viewers can tip creators for individual videos they’ve uploaded using this function. Millions of creators in 68 countries will now be able to use the monetization option, according to the business. Previously, the feature was only available to a random number of creators. Super Thanks is now available in YouTube Studio for eligible creators.
Viewers who want to express their thanks for a video can pay artists with one of four preset amounts, ranging from $2 to $50. Super Thanks comments can now be customized by viewers.
Previously, if you sent a Super Thanks, the creator’s message was set to “Thanks!” by default. The ability to tailor your message, according to YouTube, will lead to more meaningful interactions between creators and their viewers.
You’ll see an animated GIF immediately on the channel’s video after sending a Super Thanks, and you’ll be able to leave a comment noting your purchase, which producers can heart and like.
“Every day, YouTube creators help me learn or achieve something new — from baking sourdough during the pandemic to mending my bike just last week,” said Samantha Stevens, the product manager of Paid Digital Goods on YouTube.
“Imagine being able to express your gratitude to your favourite producers or express gratitude for specific videos that have taught you something new or aided you. Now you can, thanks to Super Thanks.”
Super Thanks is a Paid Digital Good feature on YouTube, which refers to any product that allows fans to pay creators directly. YouTube also has a monetization feature called Super Chat, which allows creators to make money from their live streams. There’s also a Super Stickers option for fans who want to show their support for their favourite authors and communicate with them.
