Since Xiaomi announced its foray into the vehicle sector, there has been tremendous excitement among industry professionals and customers alike. The construction of Xiaomi’s first automobile model has piqued the public’s attention, and recent reports indicate substantial progress. A supplier participating in the project, according to CNMO, has claimed that the price for Xiaomi’s first automobile model has been finalised.

The Changchun-based FAW Fuwei Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. acknowledged their active involvement with Xiaomi’s automobile project and revealed that several of its subsidiaries had joined Xiaomi’s car purchase team. This breakthrough reflects substantial progress in Xiaomi’s engagement with its vendors.
Previously, a social media rumour said that the starting price for Xiaomi’s automobile would be 149,900 yuan ($20,777). However, Wang Hua, Xiaomi’s public relations director, emphasised that this information was untrue. It was tracked back to a May 2022 self-media report that was incorrectly enhanced by the Xiaoice virtual assistant.
According to reports, Xiaomi’s automobile production is on track. In May of this year, Xiaomi’s partner and president, Lu Weibing, announced that the automobile project was proceeding smoothly and had entered a highly expedited development stage. In January of this year, the automobile was observed being tested in the snow with creator Lei Jun. This year, more summer and winter testing is planned. The Xiaomi automobile would be formally introduced in the first half of 2024, according to the plan.
Xiaomi Group recently issued its first-quarter 2023 financial report, which includes information on its innovative companies, such as smart electric cars. Despite a fall in overall sales from the same time in 2022, the company’s adjusted net profit increased significantly.
