Since this year, major companies such as Facebook (last January) and Google (just last week) have taken steps to prevent the unfortunate trend of cryptocurrency scams by banning ads promoting the currency, along with initial coin offerings (ICOs) and token sales.

Now, it’s reported that Twitter might be planning to do the same. A recent article by Sky News claims that the site is adding policies that would prohibit the promotion of cryptocurrencies and even possible exchanges but with some limitations. The new policies might be implemented as soon as two weeks.

As cryptocurrency is becoming more in-demand, authorities in both tech and finance have begun to warn the public about suspicious currencies and exchanges and are working to implement laws to properly regulate the market and curb illicit connections and exchanges.
