The instant messaging platform which is used by billions all across the world is currently testing a new feature that will allow users to react quickly to videos, images and photos shared through the messaging platform. As of now, the only way to react to an image or video sent by an user is to long press or long tap on the media and then proceed to choose the reaction desired from the bar that appears as a result of long pressing.
However it looks like WhatsApp is working on its new feature to make this process easier, smoother and hassle free. The new functionality of the messaging platform will let users quickly react and reply to media sent to them.
Last year in September the developers of WhatsApp introduced a new reply bar to the media viewer of the app. However the latest beta version takes this a step ahead. This has added a react bar to the media viewer for making the task easier and quicker.
As per the availability of the latest update, when you view an image or will watch a video in WhatsApp you will now have the option to reply to the media sent to you directly. An emoji button will be present on the right side of the reply bar which you can press in order to react to the media. If the reaction that you want is not visible there you can simply tap the ‘+’ button to choose the emoji according to your choice. This is much better than the current feature where you need to long press or swipe right to react or reply to any media.
