Apple has created a version of their MapKit JS for developers in beta to be used in websites, as announced at WWDC today.
MapKit JS was launched primarily for Apple’s web platforms such as Find My iPhone, the WWDC site, and finding nearby Apple stores on their website. The Apple Maps embeds will let developers select a specific map area and allow users to search for locations and find directions between two places. Developers can also edit and customize the map by adding annotations and overlays and enable or disable options such as panning, zooming, and rotation.
Developers can now use the API in beta for free, given that they sign up via their Apple Developer account.
