The free to use password Manager available on Chrome called Google Password Manager recently got a new update which allows users to share their passwords within the members of a family group.

More about the new update of Google Password Manager

The free to use password managers service is getting a new upgrade that will make sharing passwords with members of a family group possible for users. This feature was announced by the tech giant earlier this year in February. According to Google the functionality is being ruled out as part of the May 2024 Google Play services v24.20 update.

Google states that when you share a password with the family member in Google Password Manager, they will get a copy of IT in their Google Password Manager as well which can then be used to login to the service or website.

How to use this feature?

For using this feature, you will need to create a family group if you don’t have one. You have to add the members with whom you want to share the passwords, in the group. An important fact which is to be noted is that you will only be able to share the passwords with people who are participants of the family group and not with everyone who has a Google account.

Here you can see that there is a new share button which will appear when you view your login info in Google Password Manager. This feature is currently available on the mobile version of Chrome. However it appears like the desktop version of Chrome is yet to get the update.
