YouTube launched a new feature that will help subscribers find upcoming videos or channels that can catch an attention of subscribers.

According to Tom Leung, Product Management Director, introduce the new feature which is the Explore tab that is affecting 1% of iPhone YouTube app viewers.  Leung also added “Explore is designed to help you be exposed to different kinds of topics, videos, or channels that you might not otherwise encounter, but they’re still personalized…”

The idea behind the Explore tab is for users to view more videos and channels in a wider scope because the recommendations are having the same content or it is related to the latest video. The videos that will be shown on the new feature are still based on the viewer’s activity and it will be related to the content but in a broader scope.

The new feature is said to be an experiment to be run. The company has not yet confirmed this update.
