At this year’s YouTube BrandCast event, the company’s CEO Susan Wojicki revealed that the site now has 1.8 billion logged-in users watching videos every month, a mild jump from last year’s 1.5 billion viewers.
Wojicki also claimed that people are watching 150 million hours of videos on TVs alone each day. At the event, Wojicki also addressed issues of censorship and monitoring content with the prevalence of inappropriate and even offensive videos on the site, promising that the company will hire 10,000 new moderators but the steps in doing so are still in progress. She has also announced a new feature for YouTube Kids users to select human-curated videos.
