Metaverse, VR, and AR are all terms that we have been hearing from people, reading on blog posts and while they can pique your interests, the whole thing can also come off as daunting and confusing at first. So let’s take a look at each of their definitions.

Starting with Metaverse. This can be referred to as an entire Ecosystem of new and innovative ideas which might be on its way to changing how humans communicate and function in daily lives.

Metaverse is a virtual environment network that facilitates the interaction of mankind with digital objects like Instagram, and Facebook with few upgrades. These upgrades are known as Avatars. Avatars are virtual representations of the features of the user. Metaverse basically comprises the objects present in the real world in a 3D virtual game reality.

In science fiction terms, the word ‘Meta’ translates to ‘transcendent’ and the word ‘verse’ translates to ‘from the universe’.

Now coming to VR or Virtual Reality. VR used computers and programming in order to create a virtual reality.

VR brings in simulation in a three-dimensional world in such a way that it seems real. The whole point of coming up with Virtual Reality is to make users interact with their surroundings with help of our senses – Auditory, Olfactory, Vision, and Sensory.

AR or Augmentative Reality provides us with an enhanced version of our physical world.

These are brought to life with visuals and sound elements along with other similar sensory stimulants. This is becoming very popular in the Gaming Industry and Mobile Companies.

The Metaverse is interconnected with Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality & Augmentative Reality.
Here AR facilitated incorporating virtual objects into our real-world while VR uses the scope of computer modeling, graphic designing, and other tools in the making of a 3 Dimensional Virtual Reality.

Even though right now Metaverse doesn’t make wearing a VR headset compulsory, scientists ensure that they would soon become an integral part of this new virtual ecosystem.

It’s under speculation that in the future, Instagram and Facebook might just be available through VR headsets, and smart glasses with the help of Augmentative Reality.

Avatars – which in a way summarises the metaverse, are claimed to have the ability to mimic a user’s expression to the T. This might just be the new and improved way of communicating – in real and virtual spaces.

Metaverse is primarily co-related with gaming but that’s not always the case. Metaverse might just be the new way people interact in the near future.

It is true that gaming Industries have benefitted millions with Metaverse and its features. For Eg- The developer of World of Warcraft, Activision Blizzard has earned $8 million more from his virtual reality over one in the real world.

Metaverse can and might change marketing tactics in the business industries. Nongaming companies are trying to follow the trend and come up with ways to incorporate metaverse in them.

Eg; Decentral, which is a company that sells real estate in the form of Non – fungible Tokens (NFTs) sold a piece of land to a Canadian company worth $2.5 million which is to be used to hold Digital Fashion Shows.
Said Digital Fashion Show will be accessible tough VR headsets and e-commerce services of fashion brands.

This shows one of the many ways the Fashion Industry can unlock new virtual market opportunities.

Metaverse might revamp the whole virtual office look by taking over Zoom and Skype using AR and VR. This would provide an in-person presence of people in one place – like in the personal office.

Digital Avatars might just represent users in board meetings mimicking movements and facial expressions.

Metaverse opens an extensive range of opportunities for Tourism, Entertainment, Education, and even Healthcare.

Theoretically speaking, any activity done in the real world might just get successfully incorporated into the Metaverse Ecosystem.
