Regaining its status as one of the top smartphone manufacturers has been Motorola’s journey to redemption. The business has produced some excellent phones with its Edge 30 and 40 series, but the new Edge 50 series really raises the bar.

Design

The design of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro harmoniously combines sleek aluminum frames with a silicone vegan leather finish. A discreetly projecting rectangular frame with a triple camera arrangement and a dual LED flash is also visible on the back side.

A punch hole with a selfie camera is located on the upper side of the display. The display features a built-in fingerprint sensor that responds fairly quickly. Equipped with an IP68 certification, the Edge 50 Pro offers strong defense against dust, water, and other factors.

Display

The 6.7-inch pOLED 3D curved display that comes with the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. with Super HD resolution of 1.5K. A refresh rate of 144Hz guarantees fluid and seamless scrolling. The display’s 10-bit billion color depth enables a broad spectrum of accurate and vivid coloration. The overall dynamic range and contrast are improved with the HDR10+ support.

SGS Eye Protection technology is included with the new Edge 50 Pro to lessen eye strain and fatigue during prolonged use. 

 

OS

Four years of security and maintenance updates, three guaranteed major OS upgrades, and the brand-new Hello UI are all included with the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. It also runs Android 14.

Processor

Rather than the older Dimensity processor, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is powered by the most recent Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which is based on a 4nm technology.

The device comes in two flavors: an entry-level model with an ample 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, and a lower-end model with 128GB of RAM and 8GB of RAM. The Adreno 720 GPU enhances the potent processor.

The Edge 50 Pro achieves a single-core performance of 1150 and a multi-core score of 3151. Furthermore, the GPU score was 3543, which is comparable to the results of the most recent Nord CE4 that is powered by the same chip.

Camera

Leading the charge is the first AI-powered professional camera in history, whose outstanding color reproduction and accuracy have been verified by Pantone.

A 13MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view and a specialized macro lens for taking beautiful close-ups are the perfect additions to the primary camera, along with a 10MP 3X telephoto lens that offers flexible zooming capabilities. Additionally, it features AI Adaptive Stabilization and AI Photo Enhancement Engine. 

The Edge 50 Pro also performs exceptionally well in portrait mode. An f/1.9 aperture and autofocus 50 MP selfie camera complete the camera package, guaranteeing detailed and sharp selfies.

Battery

With its 4,500mAh battery, the Motorola Edge50 Pro claims to provide all-day battery life. Its 125W TurboPower charger can charge it in 20–25 minutes from 0% to 100%.
