Previously exclusive in Europe, the Galaxy Tab Active2 is now available in the US. Samsung’s last Tab Active release was in 2014.

The entire set, including its S Pen, has been improved to suit those working in both industrial and commercial environments. Both the tablet and the S Pen is IP68 “certified for dust and water resistance”, the tablet itself is MIL-STD-810 certified to “withstand drops, extreme temperatures and excessive pressure”. This makes the Tab Active 2 perfect for workers in extreme and outdoor locations.

Its core specs include 16GB of storage, 3GB of RAM, and an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor. Its 8-inch LCD screen runs a measly 1280 x 800 display but also has a fairly sizeable 4,450mAh battery that’s replaceable. Its cameras are 5MP on the front and 8MP on the back. The tablet runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.

All in all, it isn’t anything spectacular so it’s easy to see that their main sell is going to be its durability. The Tab Active2 with the Wi-Fi option costs $420.
