Today’s businesses face a growing imperative: become more agile or get left behind. But the process of modernizing infrastructure to increase agility is not a matter of simply “moving to the cloud.” Each organization must construct their own multi-cloud environment across public, private, and hybrid clouds, as well as legacy data centers, to meet their specific needs.
These new multi-cloud environments allow businesses to deliver digital services more efficiently and effectively, but also come with their own challenges. Private and public cloud deployments often have limited or non-standard means of communication and must co-exist with legacy infrastructure and software. Information and technology can remain in silos, asset and inventory data can be poor and incomplete, and software sprawl and shadow IT may continue to plague IT departments.
